Purpose Of Role
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth in new business by identifying and developing opportunities within the Retail Banking Division. This is to be achieved by crafting suitable strategies and introducing initiatives informed by findings from market analysis and customer insight.
Identify opportunities from market insights which can be developed into new value propositions whilst achieving business growth and financial gain.
Seek out, assess and propose ideas and models to improve existing offering to clients.
Uncover possibilities and develop strategies to attain new business from new markets and niches
identify opportunities for marketing campaigns, craft and oversee programmes that will increase business growth in-line with objectives set out for Retail Banking.
Develop and manage partnerships and relationships i.e. Bancassurance, Corporate and/or Credit partners with a focus on maximising returns and the impact of the partnership, as well as retention of partners.
Provide market insights to assist efforts to acquire and increase existing retail banking business.
Generate and provide qualified leads and target specific clients to be actively pursued as a means to acquire new business.
Assess portfolio of existing clients to discover and recommend opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.
Contribute to the planning of pitches and proposals and that speak to client needs, concerns, proposals and objectives.
Leverage internal client and product records to discover trends and development that will impact on business growth,
Research the characteristics, needs and preferences of desired and existing market segments and client groups to inform business development efforts.
Gather market intelligence to inform decision making when responding to competitive forces and identified market developments.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Minimum degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business Studies, or equivalent
A Master’s in Marketing, Business Administration, Master’s in business leadership or other relevant Master’s Degree is required
10 years experience, with proven experience in the banking and Financial services sector
Previous experience in Sales and /or Business development function is an added advantage
