A. POST. EXECUTIVE DEAN – DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The post requires a person who possesses the following. –
An earned Master’s degree, preferably in Student Affair, Management or other such closely related Social Sciences Excellent networking skills at both national and international levels
At least eight (8) years’ experience of working with students in an administrative position
A Doctorate will be an added advantage

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Dean shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for.

Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and supportive environment and culture that synthesizes the intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development of students in a holistic way; •

Setting up suitable structures and all units that fall under the Division of Student Affairs;

Coordinating and providing leadership and direction in developing policy progammes and services which enable students to cope effectively with factors of personal and social development that could affect academic performance.

Superintending over the University Orientation Programme for new students; Working with Student

Representative Council (SRC) and community leaders in developing and managing co-curricular learning and service opportunities;

Establishing a student culture where diversity is encouraged and where students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions and exercise leadership,

Sourcing funds and donations nationally and internationally to support student activities;

Planning with the SRC on their programmes for the year e.g. activities such as entertainment visits etc

Conditions of service
The post is a contract appointment lot a period of up to tour years and renewable subject to policies of the Institution
