Emergency Project Support Officer (Mutoko District): Nyahunure Community Trust (NCT)

The program overall objective is to contribute to increase capacities of at risk communities to protect development gains and achieve improved well-being outcomes in the face of shocks and stresses enabling them to contribute to the economic growth of Zimbabwe.
Nyahunure Community Trust (NCT), Under Christian Aid led BRACT consortium for Resilience Building with funding from Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF) is implementing a resilience program in Mutoko and Mudzi.
The crisis modifier is a strategic component within ZRBF designed to provide timely response during droughts and other hazards to protect the livelihoods of targeted communities. It is against this background that Nyahunure Community Trust (NCT) seeks to recruit one (1) emergency project support officer who will assist in the implementation of the crisis modifier to build the capacity of the communities to absorb the shocks stresses and also protect their livelihood assets. The successful candidates must have a strong background in emergency response, stakeholder management, and agricultural production. They will spend 100% of their time working communities
Identifying project participants at community level, on project inception; conducting agricultural training activities for target communities to develop their absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacities in the face of shock/ stressors; Coordinating project activities at ward level with community members, leaders, partner organisation and relevant government agencies; Assisting in data collection and monitoring of activities at field level; developing work plans and preparing progress reports on project activities at regular intervals.
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills; ability to provide clear messages on complex information; accuracy and attention to detail; good communication skills, including the ability to write high quality reports that are clear and concise; excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork and adapt at working with people of diverse cultural and social backgrounds; understanding and abiding with core humanitarian standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Diploma in Agriculture; a minimum of 2 years experience in the relevant field of emergency response, stakeholder management, agricultural production and capacity building; a sound understanding of resilience building concept and issues; ability to engage with stakeholders for successful implementation and enhanced sustainability of the project; excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills; excellent verbal and written communication in English, a pre-requisite. The candidate should be in possession of a valid class 3 driver’s license. Ability to ride a motor bike is a must.
