Essential Competencies and Requirements
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
• At least 7 years’ experience in generation or heavy industry
• Certification in project management is an added advantage
• Corporate membership of a recognised professional institution
• Technical and analytical skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
Key Responsibilities
• Ensures statutory compliance of all temporary and permanent electrical works.
Reviews and prepares written recommendations for all mechanical
engineering designs and drawings submitted by the Contractor
• Ensures all mechanical SHEQ risks and aspects are managed and we have zero accidents in the mechanical section
Designs and costs temporary and permanent structures required for the implementation of the project

• Participates in project budget planning and development and comes up with proposals
• Monitors project progress and identifies potential problem areas
• Prepares plant and equipment for testing and commissioning
• Monitors critical parameters during and after test runs and commissioning of equipment
Evaluates the project from preparatory works to completion and produces adetailed report
• Prepares procedures on quality and ensures that they are adhered to
• Ascertains that all designs and operational parameters are met before hand over of plant
Reviews operation and maintenance procedures for the different plant items.
• Participates in Vendor Quality Surveillances, Factory and Site acceptance tests.
• Leads Mechanical Technicians in quality control and assurance of works
