Purpose of the position
The Programme Manager will operate in Mudzi District of Mashonaland East Province. The Programme Manager will be the driving force behind the management of the programme. He or she should be highly analytical and focused but with keen insight in programme management.
Responsibilities & duties
The Programme Manager will be responsible for governance, alignment, assurance, management, tracking, finances, optimizing, planning and improvement. The programme manager will provide routinely supervision of the programme to achieve its goal and objectives. He/ She will work as head of the office leading a team and be the liaison person with Malaria Board. Governance will include with the overarching structure, processes and procedures to accomplish set objectives in line with Isdell Flowers Cross Boarder Malaria and Ministry of Health and Child Care successes and deliverables. Assurance entails checks and balances for compliance with standards and vision alignment. Management will involve regular reviews for accountability and successful implementation of activities. Finances which includes resource allocation for the successful completion of the programme objectives. Infrastructure, which may include office space and equipment’s such as office furniture, tools such as laptops, phones etc. Optimization entails the performance across all activities of the programme achieve the set goals. Tracking involves cost tracking of activities for the programme with overall programme administration costs. Planning involves developing the plan to implement programme activities, source resources, timescales, monitoring and control. Improvement covers ongoing performance assessment, research and development of new capabilities, and systematically applying knowledge for programme success.
Roles and responsibilities
The Programme Manager will report to the Isdell MCZ Malaria Control Board; Make introductions, co-ordinate and collaborate with the relevant Ministries, National Malaria programme managers, stakeholders and partners; Develop work plans and budgets and timings; Allocate and control organisation resources as they relate to individual activities; Liaise, co-ordinate base-line survey, house-hold registrations, recruit malaria volunteers, organize and conduct trainings; Identify and collaborate with local partners and stakeholders for access to nets, Rapid Diagnostic Test Kits and any other malaria commodities; Provide guidance and trainings for the Deputy Programme Manager and field officers; Assigning tasks to the Deputy Manager and field officers and supervises their work; Monitoring and tracking progress of the programme; Keep records of all the equipment and assets for the programme; Conduct and engage Clergy to support malaria prevention; Recommend and participate in recruitment of key programme staff for the malaria programme: Ensure the labour laws of the Country are followed, Ensure that the contracts are signed on an annual basis, Ensure confidentiality, Ensure that the newly employed staff are inducted and oriented, Provide in service training annually, Appraisal of all staff on an annual basis; Write reports on the work progress and shares with the Bishop and partners quarterly; Ensures the financial reports are written and submitted quarterly; Undertake any other responsibilities as the employer deems reasonable; Initiate programmes that would raise the profile and improve the success of the malaria programme.
Academic & professional qualifications
A minimum degree in developmental studies or any social health sciences; Diploma or certificate in business administration; Diploma or certificate in Information Technology will be an added advantage
Work experience & skills
A minimum of 3 year experience in a similar position

The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills; The candidate must be a Christian and a member of the Methodist Church; The candidate should have a great personality and be able to work with minimum supervision; The candidate should be a team player
